First I'll start with a few misc. pictures. Most are from Papa's party at Aunt Sharon's (and "Babycakes") home. Every night (well, almost), Mackenzie draws herself to sleep On to the big day... It started in the morning with a big surprise from mom and dad... Freckles the pony! Isn't he cute? Well, looks can be deceiving- he is terrible! Stupid pony took off and she fell off of him. We are debating on what will become of the little birthday pony. After riding we played and bit and headed off to Mackenzie's favorite restaurant (Olive Garden) for lunch. She enjoyed having the wait staff sing to her and serve her ice cream with a candle. We came home and opened gifts from extended family. Here is one of her favorites.. We then got ready and headed to a nearby arena for her birthday bash. I don't have a lot of pictures (yet). Here are a few. She had a great time riding, participating in a stick horse barrel race, smashing the pinata, and eating cupcakes. There was even a trick riding show. Of course, the gifts were much appreciated and she loved seeing all her favorite friends We came home and crashed! What a day- a great day but a long tiring one too. Cambrie was up last night with a fever and we all (except Jeff) have a cold. We are laying low and recuperating today.
Thanks to everyone who remembered her special day! God Bless

Here is a quick post before I jump online to my cooking class. When you gotta wear goggles, it's bad, Cambrie (feeling very proud) wearing her sister's riding helmet... God Bless!
Aahhh... Summer :) This just might be the best summer of my life. Every night when the sun starts to go down and things start to cool off, we go outside. Even Cambrie gets excited and finds her shoes so she can get down outside. The girls play on the swing set, the dogs run around, and Jeff and I do chores. We stay outside til it is dark (after 9:00) then come in and get ready for bed. I love it out here! Here are a few pictures from this evening- (below) This is what we refer to as "the crinkle-nose smile". She does it when she is really happy. Jeff went out in our little arena where the sunflowers have taken over. He got some great shots! Yes, I am a bit jealous of his photography skills. I've got more of the dogs but I'll save em for another time. I am STILL working on the Branson slideshow. It actually overheated my pc last night. I've switched programs and am still having problems. Also, Granny don't let me forget about your picture.
HAPPY HAPPY BDAY Grandpa Daniels and Uncle Randy. Hope you both have a wonderful day. GOD BLESS Mackenzie and I got pecked on Thursday, Jeff had a near miss yesterday, and little Cambrie got pecked tonight. Before we could reach her, she stuck her finger in the coop and they got her. It broke the skin and made her bleed. We doctored her up inside and went back out and scolded those meaners. She did enjoy that part. See her holding her little finger out... Check out our wild growing grapes! God Bless!
Finally, our chickens produced! Wu-hu! We got 9 eggs! 7 from our second group of hens and 2 from the first. They are the same age/ breed (except the first group has 2 Americanas. The Americanas lay colored eggs). I think the difference is the coop. The second group live in the coop we built, which has covered nest areas. We are in the process in building another one so hopefully the original hens will feel more comfortable laying. The 2 dirty eggs (one brown and one green) are from the original hens. which laid them on the ground. We went inside and ate them for breakfast. They have a stronger taste than store bought eggs (the yolk). double yoke- twins! |
