We finished up chores and took the girls for some fun at the midway. Cambrie and Mackenzie got me a spinning bear ride that almost made me sick - we just spun in circles the entire time.
The girls rode the giant slide twice, a hot dog roller coaster, the log flume, fun house, and a my favorite the "big" roller coaster. I sat with Cambrie and after the first drop, she said, "Daddy I can't breath!" I told her to hang on for the next drop and I had a tight grip around her waist. Mackenzie was behind us yelling and screaming so loud, she set off car alarms in the parking lot. Their legs were like noodles after we finished, but their smiles were permanent. Mackenzie told me she came off the seat! Cambrie vowed not to tell Mamma. Back at the barn, of course she let it slip by blurting out, "Daddy took us on a roller coaster!" We debated on if it was "big" or "small", the latter being acceptable. Daddy took the Daniels girls to breakfast at the famous Paris Coffee shop in Fort Worth, TX. Paris is the oldest family owned shop in the state of Texas. Breakfast was delicious, service was good, and the crowd was friendly. We will be back for some fresh pies! Really cool bikes from Keller, TX bike shop. I met the owner Carl this morning and he showed me around the shop. We had a great time at the company picnic! Christy did some face painting and an old fashioned potato sack race! Cambrie was in the lead, put stalled on the return and Mackenzie won the race. Both girls received a t-shirt and gift card for MacDonalds. House on charleswood, Maryland fried chicken which hadn't changed since the 70's, my challenger hemi, and the gator jungle off highway 50. Had a good visit. Last year I was in Oond and they were still in the house the've had from 35 years. They have transitioned to an assisted living home and they are doing better. My grandmother recognized me and occasionally said words or phrases but not much else. She is fed 3x daily and eats at the table with Grandpa. They have a staffer that administers medicine. Their new home is really a blessing and they are well taken care of here. Some of the best food comes from Kyle's off US1. Smoke mullet, salmon, and fresh catch. Next door is Jeffrey's Bakery and there is a produce stand as well. You can make a fresh healthy meal in one stop here. One of my favorites. Some of my favorite Florida foods. Publix subs, Sonnys BBQ, 4 Rivers BBQ (fake Texan, but an admirable attempt), Mom's best potato salad, Dad's mahi sammiches. |
