Cambrie picked out her big girl bed this morning and helped her dad put it together this evening. Mackenzie really likes it, therefore Cambrie thinks it is pretty neat too. She keeps saying, "It's my bed, not Mackenzie's bed.).
Now that it is bed time, the bed is less attractive. She is doing better than Mackenzie did her first night, but she is a little nervous about sleeping in it by herself. Dad is giving a pep talk, so we will see how the night goes. ETA- In the time it took me to upload these pictures, she fell asleep in her bed! The other day Mackenzie asked me if her sister would ever stop being mean. I told her probably not. She apparently *reflected* on my answer, because she came up with a plan today. She told me we should buy Cambrie a special bracelet (and make it really pretty so she would like and wear it) that would squeeze Cambrie's arm every time she was mean.
We are in our second week of swim lessons. Both girls are having fun. Mackenzie is learning strokes while Cambrie is really just playing. The program for the little kids isn't really teaching swimming. ISR is probably in our future. Jeff fixed my external hard drive (wu-hu). Now have have access to all my pictures. It is amazing how fast they change. Here is a trip down memory lane... The Tooth Fairy came to visit the ranch for the first time last night. Not great pictures but it was almost midnight with terrible lighting- The Tooth Fairy paid quite well but Mackenzie said she messed her room up.
Cambrie got out bed too to show us her teeth. First, here are the human piggies... Cambrie saw a little girl with painted toes and really liked em. So when we got home, I painted her little piggies. She loves them! Here are the other red piggies running around here- Not quite as little... or as cute... but they are red piggies.
Tonight Mackenzie made her acting debut in Weatherford. She did a great job! Cambrie enjoyed the show too. Every time the dancers would do a move on the floor Cambrie would yell, "Fall down! Fall down!". Then we would have to have a short dialogue on them falling and crying. We had the same conversation about 10 times. She was sure they were falling down and crying.
Here are a few pictures of the evening... Pictures from the past week... First the piggies... aren't they cute in an ugly sorta way? They remind me of Morph from Morph and Mindy I think. Maybe not. I can't remember the same of the old tv show- but there is an old show with a character that the piggies resemble. They LOVE milk and eggs. Apparently, the strawberries aren't too bad either. For the record, the eggs are cracked or yuck ones, the milk is older milk, and the strawberries are the heads I cut off. I read that milk raised pork is very tender. Yum, yum! I feel a little guilty... but I am thinking of all the cuts I want...porkchops, ribs, ham, bacon, sausage. Oh ya, they had leftover bread too. On to the potatoes... We put the rest of the potatoes in the ground this past week. I made french fries and potato chips the other day out of potatoes that turned out pretty darn good, so I am inspired to follow through with the seedlings. BTW, doesn't the Roo look so old? I think we have around 100 seedlings in the ground of Yukon Gold and Red La Soda. Wish us luck! And what would a post be without the crinkle nose smile!
God Bless! On to the pictures... Happy St. Patricks Day (one day late). We started the day off with some green eggs, fresh from the chicken just hours before. Yummy! My two rock stars this morning. Look what I made!!! I took a sewing class and made a pillow. The store happened to have the same material that my sheets are made out of, so I matched the pillow. It was fun and I am looking forward to taking another class. We are into the goggles now. Look at all those teeth Yep, it is frog season again. She likes you to sit and watch/ listen to her tell you all about frogs. Meanwhile, the poor frogs are croaking and wiggling. Ewww... I guess it could be worse... she could be wanting you to watch/ listen to her tell you all about her rock collection. I am thinking this is something that grandparents should have the honor of hearing- book a trip! Meet Strawberry. I will have to get a better picture to post. She is a 5 yo milking shorthorn. Yes, I milk her (twice a day at that). She gives almost 3 gallons a day (and yes, my hands do hurt). We are pasteurizing the milk for now. Meet #4. No close ups of this one. He is a Beefmaster steer who didn't get the memo that he isn't a bull anymore. He is wild! I guess it is a good thing that he isn't a real nice guy because we are going to eat him (at least that is the plan). I'll turn him loose on "the back 40" as soon as can look at me and not try to run through the fence.
Well, nap time is over so I gotta run. God Bless! 2 years ago at 10:13ish we were blessed with Cambrie.
We celebrated her birthday with pink cake and ice-cream. She enjoyed opening her presents- and played with each one a bit before moving on to the next. We will have to try to video her singing, "Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me". Very cute! She won't say she is two, although she can. Starting early on preferring to be younger. Oh it goes by so fast. I look at these pictures and she looks so big. Here are pictures from the celebration... Jeff's V-day card: Chicken coop in progress Hanging on every word... Getting ready for bees... Mackenzie took these- Crinkle nose smile! :) God Bless!
Funny Stories of the Week No pictures this morning but I thought I'd share two stories from this past week that made me laugh.
I should start by saying Cambrie LOVES cats. She goes crazy for them. We were in Walmart yesterday. I was pushing Cambrie in the cart and we past a woman wearing a big jacket with a fur hood. Cambrie saw her, pointed at her and started yelling, "Cat, Cat!" She thought the fur on the jacket was a cat. This past week, I made a small booklet for Mackenzie. I wrote down her spelling words and told her make a book and use her spelling words in her story. Well of course there was a discussion (there always is) about how she was going to make the book, how she wanted to draw all the pictures first, etc. I had wanted her to do an idea spider then take each idea and make it a sentence, then write the sentence on the page, then draw the picture that went with that sentence. Well that wasn't the way she wanted to do it.....anyways... this is the book/ story she wrote... Spelling words boot balloon roof food loose moon Book Title: The Mean Mom A mean mom called Jennifer trapped us She lead up to a metal cage and kept us there. She made us ride without any boots. No balloons for us. No fixed roofs. Hard food so we loose tooths. Doors open so we can't sleep because of the moon. Guess I got my story with the spelling words. Happy Sunday! Fall is such a busy busy time for us. I love fall but with it comes a new school year, tons of activities (art, musical theater, violin, gymnastics, 4H, soccer), and less day light. I can't keep up. I took a break though to take a few pictures to post. Here is the Roo and Cambrie (who is showing her best crinkle nose smile). Mackenzie is reading like crazy and enjoys our weekly trips to the library. Cambrie is becoming quite the little independent girl. I have started leaving her in the church nursery. She loves all the different toys but is a little brute. She can def. hold her own. She will be starting a music and/ or soccer tot class and or gym class in January. Fall is finally here in Texas. We love the cooler weather! Here are a few pictures of our garden. We planted everything (except the tomatoes) from seeds in June. We have just recently started to get veggies. Now if they would just turn red! corn... carrots and a few onions... lettuce (not quite sure how to harvest it)... I am looking forward to doing a spring garden now. Hopefully in January we will plant some fruit trees and a few Christmas trees.
God Bless! For Cambrie that is!
Everyday when I pull the table out in the living room to get ready for morning activities, Cambrie jumps up and climbs in a chair. She waits for Mackenzie to come sit down, then tries to do everything Mackenzie does. I finally got her her own notebook so she would stop grabbing Mackenzie's notebook and writing in it. Here is a quick post before I jump online to my cooking class. When you gotta wear goggles, it's bad, Cambrie (feeling very proud) wearing her sister's riding helmet... God Bless!
