Arr...what is all the buzz about? Jeff volunteered to help out with Mackenzie 's play. Little did he know that would lead to renting a costume, learning lines, and rehearsals. He is a good sport though and seems to be enjoying it. As long as he doesn't quit his day job, it is all good. :) And as far as the buzzing.... Jeff's bees arrived in the mail on Friday morning. Putting them in the hive has been challenging (or at least that is how it looks from the inside of the truck...watching him handle everything). There were around 10,000. I think we need an epipen for Christmas... and you should already know I didn't take these pictures. Eek! Moving on... The garden has really taken off. The tomatoes are growing up the teepees. The potatoes are flowering. The only thing growing faster than the veggies is the grass! No where else on either property has the grass taken off like this. It is over 3 ft. tall! Jeff has started calling the garden the sod farm. No wonder I feel overwhelmed.
God Bless!

Pictures from the past week... First the piggies... aren't they cute in an ugly sorta way? They remind me of Morph from Morph and Mindy I think. Maybe not. I can't remember the same of the old tv show- but there is an old show with a character that the piggies resemble. They LOVE milk and eggs. Apparently, the strawberries aren't too bad either. For the record, the eggs are cracked or yuck ones, the milk is older milk, and the strawberries are the heads I cut off. I read that milk raised pork is very tender. Yum, yum! I feel a little guilty... but I am thinking of all the cuts I want...porkchops, ribs, ham, bacon, sausage. Oh ya, they had leftover bread too. On to the potatoes... We put the rest of the potatoes in the ground this past week. I made french fries and potato chips the other day out of potatoes that turned out pretty darn good, so I am inspired to follow through with the seedlings. BTW, doesn't the Roo look so old? I think we have around 100 seedlings in the ground of Yukon Gold and Red La Soda. Wish us luck! And what would a post be without the crinkle nose smile!
God Bless! Mackenzie and I got pecked on Thursday, Jeff had a near miss yesterday, and little Cambrie got pecked tonight. Before we could reach her, she stuck her finger in the coop and they got her. It broke the skin and made her bleed. We doctored her up inside and went back out and scolded those meaners. She did enjoy that part. See her holding her little finger out... Check out our wild growing grapes! God Bless!
